Shoshana WassermanMore an environmental landmark than collection of artifacts, the American Indian Cultural Center & Museum that is emerging on the edge of downtown Oklahoma City has surprising lessons to teach on content ownership and re-use.

“We’re harvesting cultural materials, stories, imagery,” AICCM’s Shoshana Wasserman tells Chris Kenneally. “We approach that in a very respectful manner, allowing and actually empowering each of the tribes to determine what’s appropriate for public consumption, what they want shared about their culture, and what they do not.”
