Recorded at the 30th annual conference of the National Society of Newspaper Columnists, Beyond the Book’s Christopher Kenneally interviews literary agent Noah Lukeman, author Myra MacPherson and New York Times columnist Jeffrey Seglin for insights on transforming newspaper columns — the ultimate short form — into full-length books. Hint: Don’t think “collection.”

Chris,
Fabulous session. You are goood, and your panelists weren’t bad either. I’ve recently read “The Plot Thickens” and i’m halfway through “The First Five Pages”. I’m trying to read everything I can to teach myself about writing and agenting – any suggestions?
The session inspires me to get to work on my part of our upcoming session in Las Vegas.
Best wishes,
Michael
