AftAt the Spring 2015 Digital Hollywood conference, many sessions explored aspects of new media, though the question of what we mean by “new” was often overlooked. Distinctions between “new” and “old” distribution platforms and formats are increasingly meaningless. When seeking to maximize distribution revenues , producers understand they must approach the challenges with two mindsets in tandem: to think like a studio, and to think like a YouTube star.

Rob H. Aft is President of Compliance Consulting LLC, a Los Angeles based media finance and distribution consultancy currently serving a variety of clients including banks, law firms, producers, distributors, directors and talent guilds in the U.S., Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa. Mr. Aft headed distribution and sales at a number of independent film companies and recently executive produced Sony’s You Got Served: Beat the World. Mr. Aft served seven terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the Independent Film and TV Alliance (IFTA). He has taught film business courses at USC, UCLA Extension and Loyola Marymount University. Mr. Aft’s interactions with filmmakers and industry professionals at World Intellectual Property Organization Workshops on Copyright for Film Professionals in Nigeria, Nepal, Tanzania, Thailand, Indonesia, Jamaica and Mexico were the inspiration for his most recent book, From Script to Screen: The Importance of Copyright in the Distribution of Films published by WIPO.

Bruce David Eisen is the CEO and founder of HereIsTV, the web’s leading provider of daily, human curated TV show recommendations. Eisen is also the president and founder of Digital Advisors, a digital distribution consulting firm advising a broad range of clients, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies that have included 20th Century Fox, Blockbuster and Technicolor. Most recently Eisen was the Vice President Online Content Development & Strategy for DISH Network where he was responsible for the strategy and implementation of the company’s on-demand, online and Internet based initiatives. Eisen launched DISH’s TV Everywhere offering, making television content available to its subscribers on a variety of devices including computers, tablets and SmartPhones.

Phillip Goldfine is the founder of Hollywood Media Bridge, a film and television studio based on the Universal Pictures lot, in Hollywood, California, with over 60 film credits, five television series, an Emmy winner and Executive Producer on the 2014 Oscar winning documentary, THE LADY IN NUMBER 6:Music Saved My Life. In television, his show LAWMAN was the highest rated launch in A&E history when it premiered, and SEAL TEAM 6, the multi Emmy nominated film was also the highest rated film when it premiered on national geographic.

Phil has worked with talent as far ranging as Oscar winner Hilary Swank to Katherine Heigl, Jack Black, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Ray Liotta, Val Kilmer and Steven Seagal to name a few of the actors he worked with over the years.

Prior to his work as a producer, Phil worked at Twentieth Century Fox for legendary executive, Peter Chernin, and at New Line for the iconic Bob Shaye where he worked on movies like THE MASK and NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, to Trimark a studio specializing in genre films and comedy before setting up Hollywood Media Bridge.
