Hope: A Collection of Obama Posters and PrintsHal WertThe historic 2008 Presidential campaign saw the revival of the campaign poster says historian Hal Wert, whose new book, Hope: A Collection of Obama Posters and Prints, just out from Zenith Press in Wisconsin, documents this phenomenon.

The “old” form of the poster, Wert says, was reinvigorated not only by enthusiasm for the candidate but also by online technologies that help to create and share art in ways not possible before. Still, some things never change for an indefatigable collector: “The artists were putting them up, and I was right behind them, taking them down.”

A selection of notable posters from the book includes work by Ray Noland, Matt Dye, and The Date Farmers.
