Got Copyright? Learn how copyright law protects you and your written work in a seminar, COPYRIGHTING AND PROTECTING YOUR WORK, September 19th (7:00PM – 8:30PM). The seminar is being hosted by Bisson & Barcelona in their offices at 5 Dyment Way in Barrington, New Hampshire, in conjunction with Beyond the Book, and is open to the first 15 people.
Beyond the Book’s Christopher Kenneally, an author/journalist who has served since 2001 as Director of Author Relations for the Massachusetts-based nonprofit Copyright Clearance Center, will provide attendees a round-up of tips for consciousness in the digital age. The seminar will address such common questions and misconceptions as:
* “Can I copyright an idea?”
* “If it’s published on the Web, then copyright law doesn’t apply.”
Chris also will:
* detail the copyright registration process, and
* outline opportunities for licensing one’s work once it is copyrighted.
Handouts will be available, including sample registration forms from the U.S. Copyright Office. To register, click here, or call (603) 664-5776 or email myimage at bissonbarcelona dot com. Seating is limited to 15 participants.
